Building Digital Skills - Closes 6 September.    $3,000 – $20,500 funding so you can run a program to support over 50’s to be connected and get digital skills. A range of resources and support materials are available to help organisations deliver this program.This Be Connected program aims to support older people in Australia so they have the skills needed to participate fully in society.

Supporting Aboriginal People in Tourism and Hospitality - Round 1 - 2024 - 5 September 2024.

Carers Small Grants Program - Closes13 September 2024 at 2:00pm. Applicants can apply for funding of up to $2,500 for events and activities during National Carers Week 2024, or for projects that support the health and wellbeing of carers.

2024 Governance for Social Impact - Closes 15 September 2024. This executive education program will be delivered in a way that develops participants in an engaging and participatory way that will challenge participants thinking and help them better understand and lean into the complexity of the social purpose landscape. The content, presenters and activities included in the delivery of this program are highly experienced, in the community sector and program delivery, and deeply engaging.

Screen Tasmania - Production Support Round. Closes 2 September 2024. - This program provides a one-off grant or equity investment for the production of children’s and adults’ animation, feature films, television drama and documentary or factual projects.

Step Forward Grants  - Close 23 September 2024.  Grants of up to $5,000 are available from a total funding pool of $150,000.  Grants are for projects that support health and well-being. Grants could be used for a wide range of activities like providing training to upskill people in your community or organisation, designing/printing posters for a health promotion campaign, or for equipment to run a community group or activity.

26TEN Grants TAS.  Tranche one closes 27 September 2024.  These grants support employers and peak bodies to run projects to improve literacy and numeracy of Tasmanian workers (paid and volunteers). Projects can include improving all aspects of workplace communication, for example:

• improving the reading, writing and maths skills of employees, so they can do their jobs better
• training employees to write work documents in plain English
• digital literacy for employees with low reading, writing or maths skills
• surveys, consultations, and research to determine employee's literacy needs
• training supervisors and managers to support employees with low literacy.

Community Climate Change Action Grants. - close 27 September 2024. There is a total of $350,000 available for community projects that improve information and knowledge about climate change, reduce emissions and build resilience.  Grants of between $2,000 and $20,000 are available for Tasmanian-based projects that:

• improve information and knowledge about climate change
• reduce greenhouse gas emissions and support the transition to a low-emissions economy
• build resilience in our communities and local environment to the impacts of a changing climate.

Social Cohesion Small Grant Program 2024 - close 30 September 2024. The Tasmanian Government is committed to supporting innovative projects that address racism and foster social cohesion across communities. The Tasmanian Government has allocated $200,000 to deliver the Social Cohesion Small Grants Program 2024, providing funding for grants of up to $25,000. The Grant Program encourages local initiatives to address social cohesion in Tasmanian communities. The focus on collaboration between community organisations and local government aims to address social cohesion challenges and initiatives in Tasmanian communities.

Healthy Focus Grants - close 30 September 2024. Grants from $20,000 to $100,000 are available from a total funding pool of $1.5 million. Improving health equity is a key principle of Healthy Focus grants. Grants are for preventive health projects that reduce the barriers to people living a healthy life. Projects must address one or more of the Healthy Tasmania focus areas: priority populations, health literacy, mental health and wellbeing, active living, eating well, smoke-free communities, reducing alcohol harm, and climate change and health.

Women Leaders in Sport - Individual Leadership Workshop 2025 - close 30 September 2024. This workshop series provides a great opportunity for women in the sports industry, including administrators, coaches, officials, volunteers, and sports media professionals, to enhance or refresh their leadership skills.

Screen Games Development - closes 6 October 2024. This funding program is for the development of both narrative and non-narrative screen projects for all digital platforms. is designed to encourage Tasmanians to develop, adopt and exploit new and emerging business models to create compelling screen content.

Supercharged Renewable Energy Dividend Program 2024 - small businesses in embedded networks  close 2:00 PM 31 October 2024. Embedded network customers are businesses that receive their electricity from an entity such as an embedded network operator, landlord or building owner. This entity purchases electricity from an energy retailer (such as Aurora Energy) and on-sells it to their business tenants through an individually metered connection. Examples of these include:

Supercharged Renewable Energy Dividend Program 2024 – residential households on embedded networks  close 2:00PM 31 October 2024.
The Supercharged Renewable Energy Dividend program provides a one-time payment of $250 for residential households using an embedded network in Tasmania rather than an authorised retailer. This includes caravan parks and retirement villages, where residents are billed separately for their electricity use.

Free and confidential mental health coaching for small business owners  Closes 31 December 2024.  This mental health coaching program has been developed by Beyond Blue to give small business owners support during challenging times.

Funding for Tasmanian employers to improve literacy and numeracy in their workplace Closes 31 December 2024. 26TEN Grants provide businesses and peak bodies with funding to help them improve the literacy and numeracy skills of their workers.

Sign up for Free NBN - up to 31 December 2024.  Eligible families in Tasmania without broadband are encouraged to sign up for a free NBN connection for 12 months as part of the Albanese Government’s ongoing roll-out of the School Student Broadband Initiative (SSBI).  To be eligible, a family must: Have a child living at home enrolled in an Australian school in 2024; Be referred by a nominating organisation; Have no active broadband service over the NBN network; and Live in a premise where they can access a standard NBN service

Tasmanian Community Action Fund monthly applications are accessed bi-monthly and close 31 December 2024.  Applications from not-for-profit community organisations for projects that support strong, vibrant and resilient communities, through programs and activities that remove barriers to learning for 8–19 year olds and build leadership capability and capacity across the community. 

Subsidies for Skills Tasmania endorsed registered training organisations (RTOs)  Closes 31 December 2024. This program supports Skills Tasmania endorsed registered training organisations (RTOs) to provide training and assessment services.

MCOT Cultural Grants 2024 - The Multicultural Council of Tasmania small grants round (up to $500) aimed at assisting member organisations to deliver community cultural events throughout the year.

Saluting Their Service Commemorative Grants Program. Closes 5 Feb 2025.The Program aims to provide funding for projects that promote appreciation and understanding of the experiences of service and the roles of those who have served. It also seeks to preserve, add to the sum knowledge of, or provide access to information about Australia's service history.’s wartime heritage.

Small Business Advice and Financial Guidance Program Round 4 - Closing date:Friday 30 May 2025.  This program provides small businesses with funding to engage an appropriate consultant to provide advice or services that will assist in business recovery, transition, growth or application of other management services.

Ticket to Play voucher - open from 4 July 2024 to 30 May 2025. Ticket to Play provides two vouchers worth up to $100 each towards club membership fees for children aged 5-18 years who are listed on a Services Australia Health Care or Pensioner Concession Card or in approved Out of Home Care. The key objective of Ticket to Play is to increase the number of young Tasmanians participating in sport and active recreation.

Travel Funding - Active Tasmania administers funding through a range of grant programs including support for sporting representatives and State sport and recreation organisations to lead, administer and develop activities around Tasmania.  

Tourism and Events

One-off Assistance Grants provides funding to events being held in regional Tasmania outside of the peak tourism season. 

Championship grants of up to $10,000 are available for eligible competitions that bring more than 100 competitors and supporters to Tasmania, who stay in paid commercial accommodation for three nights or more, and are able to promote pre- and post-championship travel within the state as part of their event marketing.

Touring Grants Tasmania provides funding to organisers of auto, motorbike or walking tours held in Tasmania which encourage visitors to travel around the state.

Transition to Independent Living Allowance (TILA)
The Transition to Independent Living Allowance (TILA) in a one-off government payment for young people aged between 15 – 25. It provides a financial contribution of $1,500 to assist young people with transitioning to independent living.

Mantana Foundation for Young People
The Mantana Foundation for Young People provides assistance toyoung persons from disadvantaged or marginalized backgrounds. The focus is on providing programs that target school retention and increased educational achievement, employment skills development and career pathways, and social and community connectedness, together with servicesin geographical areas where funding is difficult to source.

Small business training for people interested in self-employment
This program provides support to people interested in starting their own business or who need help to refocus an existing small business.

No interest business loans for low income Tasmanians
The No Interest Micro Business Loan provides low income earners with interest-free loans to support their new or growing business.

Growth programs for businesses
The Business Growth Programs provide businesses with access to expert advice and programs that will help them grow their business.

Bonus tax deduction for small businesses accessing external training for their employees
This initiative provides small businesses with a bonus tax deduction to help them train new staff and upskill existing staff.

Tax deductions for small businesses to digitise their operations
This initiative allows small businesses to claim a 20% bonus deduction on technology expenditure to help digitise their business.

Pre-employment project opportunities to recruit new staff
The Launch into Work program is for businesses that want to use a pre-employment project to recruit new staff.

Financial incentives for businesses to hire new staff
Wage subsidies provide financial incentives to employers to hire and retain eligible participants in ongoing and sustainable positions.

The Minding Your Business program provides free mental health training and support for small Tasmanian businesses and their employees. 

Funding for workers with a disability
The Employment Assistant Fund provides workers with a disability with funding for workplace modifications, equipment or services they need to perform their job. 

Business Energy Efficiency Scheme The scheme will provide loan interest subsidies to eligible applicants by way of a once-off grant payment to install the energy efficient goods/equipment, or have energy efficiency services delivered. Through BEES, the Tasmanian Government will fund:

• the full interest costs under the loan on up to $10,000 over the first three years, and
• a 5 percentage point interest subsidy for loan amounts over $10,000 and less than $60,000 over the first three years.

Loans for businesses to support exports
The Small Business Export Loan provides small to medium export businesses with loans to cover up to 80% of the costs to secure an export contract or purchase order with an overseas buyer.
