The Australia Post Community Grants program supports local projects to improve mental health and well-being. Applications for the 2024 grants close 1 July.

Cameron Baird VC MG Scholarship 2025  Closes 22 July 2024.
Submissions will open 7 June 2024. The Scholarship is open to students intending to enrol in Years 11 or 12 in 2024 at any Tasmanian school, as well as students who are undertaking home education at the same year level.

 

Funding to develop technologies for the decarbonisation of energy-intensive industries  Closes 18 July. 
The Australia-Austria Industrial Decarbonisation Demonstration Partnerships Program provides funding for joint Australian and Austrian decarbonisation projects. It supports the development of innovative technologies, processes or solutions to decarbonise hard-to-abate energy-intensive industries.

 

Arts and Disability Initiative Closing Date: July 9, 2024 3:00 pm $30,000
These grants provide support for significant projects to extend arts practice, networks, skills, and ambition.

MUSIC AUSTRALIA: International Performance and Touring Activity
Closing Date: July 9, 2024 3:00 pm (AEST) $5000 to $25,000
Matched funding for international tours and performances by Australian contemporary music artists 

MUSIC AUSTRALIA: International Professional and Artistic Development
Closing Date: July 9, 2024 3:00 pm (AEST) $3000 to $15,000
Up to $15,000 matched funding to support international professional development activities by Australian contemporary music artists. 

MUSIC AUSTRALIA: International Market and Audience Development
Closing Date: July 9, 2024 3:00 pm (AEST) $2000 to $10,000
Up to $10,000 matched funding to support international promotional and content creation activities by Australian contemporary music artists.

LIFECYCLE: First Nations Recording Grants Closing Date: July 26, 2024 11:59 pm  $20,000

Local Para Champions Round 1 - 2024/25  close midnight 31 July 2024 
Grants for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-24 participating in state, national or international championships for athletes with a disability.

Local Sporting Champions Round 1 - 2024/25  close midnight 31 July 2024
Grants for 12-18 year olds towards costs associated with participating in an eligible competition.

 

National Pies for Local Heroes- monthly grants close last day of each month.
Any registered Australian community group, sporting club or not-for-profit organisation can apply. We’ll award a grant of $1,000 each month over the next 12 months, beginning in March 2024. We’ll also award a major grant of $10,000 at the end of the program Jan 2025.

Tasports Community Grants Program.  Applications open on 1 August 2024 for projects scheduled to take place between October 2024 and April 2025.  Grants up to $5,000 are available for supporting organisations, community groups and events that benefit communities surrounding our port operations and across Tasmania. Key Focus areas include Community Engagement, Marine Safety, Marine and Coastal Environmental Protection, Maritime Heritage.

Delivery Partner – Disability Arts Services Closing Date:August 6, 2024 3:00 pm 
Creative Australia invites organisations to submit a proposal to support specific arts and disability arts services, drawing on those identified in the research on arts and disability needs and opportunities commissioned by Creative Australia in 2023.

Creative Australia invites organisations to submit a proposal to deliver national services that support a sustainable, climate responsive actions for the Australian arts sector and Australian communities. 

2024-25 Teddy Sheean VC Memorial Grants Program - Round 1  open 5 July, Submissions close 2:00AM 29 August 2024.
For funds to Tasmanian ex-service organisations and clubs for minor capital works and equipment purchases and welfare initiatives for veterans. Funds are also available to a range of organisations for the repair and maintenance of war memorials, and for the construction of new memorials in Tasmania.

 

The SeaFM Burnie Christmas Parade is returning in 2024, with this year's parade scheduled to take place on Friday, the 6th of December within the Burnie CBD streets.Float organisers have an exciting opportunity to apply for financial assistance to help bring their creative float ideas to life.

This scheme provides businesses with concessional loans to help them develop or expand, or undertake new projects. Closes 20 December 2024.

Free and confidential mental health coaching for small business owners  Closes 31 December 2024.

Funding for Tasmanian employers to improve literacy and numeracy in their workplace Closes 31 December 2024.
26TEN Grants provide businesses and peak bodies with funding to help them improve the literacy and numeracy skills of their workers.

Sign up for Free NBN - up to 31 December 2024.
Eligible families in Tasmania without broadband are encouraged to sign up for a free NBN connection for 12 months as part of the Albanese Government’s ongoing roll-out of the School Student Broadband Initiative (SSBI).  To be eligible, a family must: Have a child living at home enrolled in an Australian school in 2024; Be referred by a nominating organisation; Have no active broadband service over the NBN network; and Live in a premise where they can access a standard NBN service

Applications from not-for-profit community organisations for projects that support strong, vibrant and resilient communities, through programs and activities that remove barriers to learning for 8–19 year olds and build leadership capability and capacity across the community. 

Subsidies for Skills Tasmania endorsed registered training organisations (RTOs)  Closes 31 December 2024.
This program supports Skills Tasmania endorsed registered training organisations (RTOs) to provide training and assessment services.

 

MCOT Cultural Grants 2024 - The Multicultural Council of Tasmania small grants round (up to $500) aimed at assisting member organisations to deliver community cultural events throughout the year.

Travel Funding - Active Tasmania administers funding through a range of grant programs including support for sporting representatives and State sport and recreation organisations to lead, administer and develop activities around Tasmania.  

 

Tourism and Events

Funding for events held during the non-peak tourism season in regional Tasmania
One-off Assistance Grants provides funding to events being held in regional Tasmania outside of the peak tourism season. 

Funding for organisers of auto, motorbike or walking tours
Touring Grants Tasmania provides funding to organisers of auto, motorbike or walking tours held in Tasmania which encourage visitors to travel around the state.

Funding for mass participation events held in Tasmania
This program provides funding to event organisers hosting large events in Tasmania.

Free mentoring support for First Nations tourism businesses

Support for TAS tourism businesses to reduce their emissions
The Tourism Industry Council Tasmanian (TICT) is supporting tourism businesses to reducing their emissions through targeted programs.

 

Arts, Entertainment, Screen & Production

Funding and Resources for Tasmanian screen practitioners
Screen Tasmania Funding and Support provide screen practitioners with funding and resources to support the development, production and promotion of screen content.

Funding and resources for Australian screen practitioners
Screen Australia Funding and Support provides screen practitioners with funding and resources to support the development, production and promotion of Australian screen content.

Australia Council for the Arts
The Australia Council has developed a new grants model which will support a diverse range of artists, artistic practice, organisations and arts activity. 

Loans for Tasmanian artist capital improvements and equipment
The Low Interest Arts Loan provides artists, groups and organisations with low interest loans to invest in capital improvements and equipment purchases.

 

Social Enterprise

Support for Tasmanian start-up social enterprises and impact-driven businesses
The Shift Lab provides new social enterprises and impact-driven businesses with support, structures, tools and resources.

Young People

Transition to Independent Living Allowance (TILA)
The Transition to Independent Living Allowance (TILA) in a one-off government payment for young people aged between 15 – 25. It provides a financial contribution of $1,500 to assist young people with transitioning to independent living.

Mantana Foundation for Young People
The Mantana Foundation for Young People provides assistance toyoung persons from disadvantaged or marginalized backgrounds. The focus is on providing programs that target school retention and increased educational achievement, employment skills development and career pathways, and social and community connectedness, together with servicesin geographical areas where funding is difficult to source.

 

Business Support

Small business training for people interested in self-employment
This program provides support to people interested in starting their own business or who need help to refocus an existing small business.

No interest business loans for low income Tasmanians
The No Interest Micro Business Loan provides low income earners with interest-free loans to support their new or growing business.

Growth programs for businesses
The Business Growth Programs provide businesses with access to expert advice and programs that will help them grow their business.

Tax deductions for small businesses to digitise their operations
This initiative allows small businesses to claim a 20% bonus deduction on technology expenditure to help digitise their business.

Pre-employment project opportunities to recruit new staff
The Launch into Work program is for businesses that want to use a pre-employment project to recruit new staff.

Financial incentives for businesses to hire new staff
Wage subsidies provide financial incentives to employers to hire and retain eligible participants in ongoing and sustainable positions.

Matched funding for start-ups and small business to access CSIRO support
CSIRO Kick-Start provides matched funding for start-ups and small to medium enterprises to help access CSIRO's research expertise and capabilities to help grow your business.  

Free mental health and training and support for TAS small businesses and their employees
The Minding Your Business program provides free mental health training and support for small Tasmanian businesses and their employees. 

Funding for workers with a disability
The Employment Assistant Fund provides workers with a disability with funding for workplace modifications, equipment or services they need to perform their job. 

Business Energy Efficiency Scheme The scheme will provide loan interest subsidies to eligible applicants by way of a once-off grant payment to install the energy efficient goods/equipment, or have energy efficiency services delivered. Through BEES, the Tasmanian Government will fund:

  • the full interest costs under the loan on up to $10,000 over the first three years, and
  • a 5 percentage point interest subsidy for loan amounts over $10,000 and less than $60,000 over the first three years.

Loans for businesses to support exports
The Small Business Export Loan provides small to medium export businesses with loans to cover up to 80% of the costs to secure an export contract or purchase order with an overseas buyer.

 

Agriculture, primary production  

Funding for organisations to do rural industry research
AgriFutures Australia RD&E Investment provides funding for organisations to help conduct research that will improve the sustainability and profitability of new and established rural industries.

Support for farmers experiencing financial hardship
The farm household allowance program provides farming families experiencing financial hardship with assistance through planning and training for long-term financial improvements as well as income support for up to 4 years.

 

Tech & Advanced Manufacturing 

Network of specialised programs to support Australian technology companies to expand globally
Landing Pads provide start-ups with a workspace for up to 90 days in a global innovation hub, along with access to coaching, investors, customers, training and networking events.

Funding for businesses undertaking renewable energy projects
The Advancing Renewables Program provides businesses with funding or finance to develop renewable energy technologies.

Funding to support zero emissions vehicle (ZEV) technologies
This program provides funding to enable the demonstration and deployment of new zero emissions vehicle technologies.

Funding for Tasmanian advanced manufacturers
The Advanced Manufacturing Tender Incentive Program provides Tasmanian advanced manufacturers with funding to engage in a professional bid and tender writing services.

Financial benefits for businesses that recycle oil
The Product Stewardship for Oil Program provides financial benefit for businesses that recycle oil or use recycled oil in their operations.

 

Export 

Financial help for Tasmanian businesses to move goods by sea
The Tasmanian Freight Equalisation Scheme provides businesses and individuals with financial assistance to offset the costs of moving goods by sea.
