BIG Science Fair

The BIG Science Fair returns to Burnie Arts on 19–20 August 2025, welcoming students in Years 5–12 from the North West and West Coast.

 

Open to schools, individuals, and organisations, the fair encourages hands-on science and engineering projects, linking students with future career and education opportunities.

Community involvement is welcomed through sponsorship, volunteering, or judging. Run by Burnie Works and the BIG Committee, expressions of interest are now open at

Years 5 and 6 - Tuesday 19 August

Years 7 to 12 - Wednesday 20 August

 

Open to Science and Engineering entries.

Projects can be undertaken individually or as a group (max 3 students)

An awards night will be held. This will be on a separate night from the Science Fair in the following week.
