Council

The Burnie City Council serves a municipality of over 19,000 people. It is governed by nine councillors, who each serve a four-year term and has a staff of around 150 people.

Council meetings are generally held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 PM in the Council Chambers at 80 Wilson Street. Public questions, meeting dates, agendas, and minutes can be accessed here.
