Councillor Alvwyn Boyd was re-elected to Council in October 2024 following a recount from the 2022 elections to fill a casual vacancy.
Previous to this Cr Boyd served for 23 years as a Councillor from 1999 to 2022, including terms as Mayor from 2000-2011 and 2017-2018; Deputy Mayor from 2014-2017.
He is passionate about Burnie's status as the north-west hub for trade, business and employment, transport, culture and leisure activities, health and education services.
Councillor Boyd lives and works in Burnie, where he has run a successful supermarket business and has raised his family.
