The Role
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled ICT Support Officer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of our organisation’s IT systems and provide essential technical support across various departments.
As an ICT Support Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our IT Service Desk. You will provide technical support to internal staff, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and contribute to the overall IT strategy of Council.
About You
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate should have experience in IT support or a related technical role, demonstrating a strong understanding of computer hardware, Microsoft Operating Systems and networking. You should have practical knowledge of troubleshooting techniques for both hardware and software, as well as a solid understanding of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and wireless networks.
In addition, you should be proficient in using and supporting common business applications such as Microsoft 365. Experience with IT ticketing systems and remote desktop tools is also beneficial, as this will be a key part of providing support.
Strong communication skills are vital, as you will need to explain technical information clearly to users with varying levels of technical knowledge. You should be able to manage multiple priorities and solve problems quickly and efficiently, often under pressure. Effective time management skills are essential in this role, as you will be required to prioritize and manage multiple support requests and projects simultaneously.
