The Role
We are looking for a self-motivated, ‘hands on’ leader to be responsible for managing a range of operational and capital civil projects and smaller scale works to deliver quality outcomes across Council's asset base. These works may include footpath, kerb and gutter repairs, drainage, traffic facilities maintenance and upgrades and on occasion supporting the delivery of larger capital works in construction.
We're looking for someone with a proactive problem solving approach, attention to detail in project execution, effective resource management and who has the ability to work in diverse and dynamic environments. You will lead a team of Civil Operators, effectively coordinating the successful delivery of Council’s civil services work. This will be achieved through the management of resources, people, plant and equipment efficiently, safely and to a high quality standard.
About You
You will use your trusted leadership and communication skills to quickly and effectively build cooperative relationships with all stakeholders. You will have sound knowledge and experience in the construction of civil activities and will be able to interpret construction plans and provide team leadership to complete capital works and maintenance tasks. This includes empowering your direct reports through clear expectations, accountability, consistent decision-making and timely feedback.
