The Role
A Planning Officer at Burnie will provide support and assistance in the provision of land use, environmental and resource management services provided by Council.
The Planning Officer is a varied role and is a hands-on position, requiring the incumbent to apply their exceptional organisational skills to achieve the demands of the position. As Planning Officer you will use your methodical approach and ability to follow process to work across a diverse range of planning matters and issues, assisting with research, consultation and analysis, to provide recommendations and guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
To be successful you will bring:
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to operate collaboratively within a team environment and manage stakeholders
- The ability to exercise sound judgment and be able to prioritise
- A sound understanding of the legislative planning framework including strategic and statutory planning processes in Tasmania.
- The ability to effectively manage time to ensure the delivery of an efficient and accurate planning service to the community.
