Food & Feedback fun

What an incredible day we had on Saturday 24 August at our second ‘Food & Feedback’ event.

We worked hard as a team to put on a great event that was family friendly and an opportunity for the community to come together, connect and give feedback on a range of key projects that Council is working towards delivering for our community, including: the Burnie City Centre Urban Plan, Burnie Arts and Civic Plaza redevelopment projects, the proposed Shorewell Park playground and the Settlement Strategy.

With the rain pouring down, it was great to see more than 350 of our citizens come out to tell us their opinions on this range of important endeavours.

Thank you to the amazing local businesses who came along and contributed to making it such a great community event. These included our food & beverage providers Spilt Milk & Beans, Forbidden Sweets and Menai Kitchen, while keeping everyone entertained on the day were Caro's Creative Crew, Slipstream Circus and Business Northwest.  

A sincere thank you also to our partners ERA Planning and Environment, GHD and 

Playstreet Pty Ltd, who led the consultations with the community, along with Marinus Link, who was also very busy on the day talking to the community about the mega-project
