Rally of Tasmania to call Burnie home
Published on 19 April 2024
Motorsport Australia has confirmed Burnie as the new home for the final round of the Bosch Motorsport Australia Rally Championship (ARC).
The ARC’s season finale, to be known by the new name of Buckby’s Rally of Tasmania, will base itself out of the idyllic Tasmanian hub on the state’s north-west coast.
Boasting plenty of amazing rally roads in the nearby region, the new-look event will see a shift from Launceston thanks to the support of the Burnie City Council and Events Tasmania.
Burnie City Council Mayor Teeny Brumby was delighted to welcome the ARC to Burnie later this year.
“Burnie has a proud history of hosting rally events and we look forward to welcoming competitors and their hundreds of support crew to our city, and the region.” Mayor Brumby said.
“There are many passionate motorsports fans in our community and I expect they will be excited to see Australia’s best rally teams in action,” she said.
ARC Manager Adrian Coppin said the new-look event promised to deliver an epic season finale.
“We’re thrilled to be finishing the Bosch Motorsport Australia Rally Championship season in a new Tasmanian location, with Burnie the ideal place for us to celebrate our 2024 Champions,” Coppin said.
“Burnie is a great location, easily accessible for local and interstate teams and will provide new challenges to the drivers and co-drivers with new stages to make up the event and test Australia’s best rally teams.
“We’re thrilled to be working in partnership with the Burnie City Council and Events Tasmania team to deliver this national event, and we expect a large number of competitors and spectators to venture to Burnie for an unforgettable experience in November this year.
“We’re also delighted to confirm Buckby Motors as the naming rights partner for this event in 2024. The Buckby Motors Rally of Tasmania will be the perfect end to what is shaping up to be one of the best rally seasons in recent years.”
The location for this year’s Pedders Rally Central can also be confirmed, with the West Park Oval playing host to the service crews and cars throughout the event.
As with all ARC events, spectating is free – with dedicated spectator guides to be made available on rally.com.au closer to the event.
The 2024 Buckby Motors Rally of Tasmania will take place in Burnie on 22-24 November.
