Resignation of Councillor Steven Kons

The following statement has been issued by Mayor Teeny Brumby. 

Burnie City Council wishes to announce that Councillor Steven Kons has tendered his resignation, effective immediately.

Councillor Kons has made significant contributions to the Burnie community throughout his time on Council, including serving as Mayor on three separate occasions. His departure marks a significant decision and a moment of change for Burnie City Council.

We acknowledge his years of service and leadership and wish him well as he moves forward with his personal and professional commitments.
