Splinters be gone!
The Building team have been busy removing all the old timber seating in the Wivenhoe Grandstand. Some of the timber is quite weathered, with some of the long lengths in a good enough condition to be utilised as decorative pieces. Over the next few weeks the iron will be replaced and the aluminium seats will be installed. The half of the grand stand in worst condition is being done, with the remaining proposed to be completed next financial year

The grandstand at the Wivenhoe Recreation Ground has now had its seating completely replaced.
This project was undertaken in two parts, with the first section completed last year. The work entailed the removal of the old timber seating and replacing it with new aluminium seating. The second round of work commenced in mid-August and was completed mid-September. The grandstand now has new aluminium-plank seating throughout and looks amazing.
A huge shout out to Council’s Building and Maintenace Officers Mitch and Nathan who worked on the project.
