Loading Zones
Loading zones are provided to assist commercial vehicles in the delivery of goods for nearby businesses.
The State Government has legislation that determines who can use loading zones. See the loading zone criteria for details on usage.
Truck Zones
In April 2024, the Council voted to convert two CBD loading zones to "Truck Zones" during business hours. This is to enable couriers in large trucks two areas that are exclusively available for them to deliver and not have to wait for a loading zone to become available or are unable to use a normal metered bay due to size.
Acceptable vehicles to utilise these truck zone areas are trucks and very large vans with a GVM over 4.5 tonnes.
The 2 zones are:
- Mount Street outside Sportspower and
- Wilson Street outside Cotton On.
Overlength Vehicle Parking
Facilities to park oversized vehicles including RV, Caravan, Motor home, Bus or Trailer.

There is a Free designated parking zone on North Terrace near the surfclub.
